The SEND reforms put children and families at the heart of the SEND system, and local areas are working hard to make this a reality. To support local areas to do this, the Department for Education has published the user journey mapping research report and website at http://www.ehcpjourneys.com.

Local areas can use user journey mapping to get in-depth feedback from children and young people with SEND and their families, and use this to improve the services they provide. The report and website set out the findings of this research, as well as providing guidance for LAs on how to carry out similar research.

The website will continue to be updated over the next 12 months, and the research team are keen to hear about other examples of local provision that reflect co-production, multi-agency working and successful processes – you can get in touch with them here.
