Early years funding consultation

The Department for Education (DfE) today published its government responseto the consultation on early years funding reform, including the introduction of an early years national funding formula. DfE would like to thank all those who shared their views via the online survey and attended regional consultation events.

Your local authority will shortly be running a consultation on your local funding formula – please get involved and have your say.

Advice and support for providers

DfE will also be publishing information and advice for providers over the coming weeks via the Foundation Years website to support delivery of 30 hours next year, including a factsheet on the funding consultation and a link to a toolkit developed with the Family and Childcare Trust to help providers work in partnership.

Today, DfE are also launching a package of online support materials on the gov.uk and Foundation Years websites to help providers ensure their businesses remain sustainable, including guidance, case studies and a directory.

Please do take a look at these resources, as well as following the DfE Twitter account and #30hours, to stay in touch with latest news and information in the run up to 30 hours roll out.
