The DfE has launched a consultation on new proposals on eligibility for the 15 hour childcare entitlement for two-year-olds.

In light of the national roll out of Universal Credit, the Department for Education has launched a consultation asking for views on how the government should continue to offer early years education to the families who should be receiving the 15 hours of free childcare for two-year-olds from disadvantaged families.

The government wants to expand the offer to ensure that around 8,000 more disadvantaged children will benefit from high quality early education, once Universal Credit is fully rolled out.
