On 10 May the Prime Minister announced a road map towards coronavirus (COVID-19) recovery, including plans to welcome all children back to early years settings from 1 June at the earliest, if the five key tests set by government justify the changes at the time.

Early years planning guide

To support providers in their planning to open more widely, government has published a guide for early years and childcare settings that sets out protective measures that providers will wish to consider putting in place to limit the transmission of coronavirus in their setting.

The planning guide has been developed in consultation with a number of early years sector bodies, providers from a variety of different size and type of setting, local authorities and unions.
