Get ready for the changes to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) in September 2021 with the Department for Education’s (DfE’s) new service, packed with resources and practical support for childminders, nursery leaders and pre-school practitioners.

The service, developed with sector experts and extensively tested with PVI staff and childminders, features information and resources all in one place to support you to understand and implement the changes to the EYFS, including a summary of the changes, links to key documents, and ideas for activities.

Each of the 7 areas of learning have been broken down into 3 sections with bite-sized information, engaging videos and ideas for activities to support your understanding of the educational programmes.

In response to sector feedback, additional support on curriculum planning, reducing paperwork, oral health, working in partnership with parents and carers, and english as an additional language is also available.

What did the testers think?

“I think it’s perfect, it doesn’t go on and on and it’s not too technical. It just says what it needs to say, it’s very informative and it’s changed my perception of things online being difficult to use.”

“This feels clear to read, it feels like I would be able to plan for that and get some great ideas for how to enhance the children’s learning. It just feels clear.”

“I like the examples…giving you a concrete activity you can do. Sometimes I think childminders struggle how to relate that to actual practice”

“It’s interesting about using it to make marks, I’d never thought about that bit before so that’s something new for me to try. That’s a nice idea.”
